Since 2009, How I Learned has featured some of the best live storytelling, comedy, and readings in New York City. It all happens a couple of times a year, and sometimes more than that, which basically means you'll have the best night of you life on those nights, repeatedly.

COMING UP ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 29TH AT UNION HALL... GET YER YA-YA'S OUT!

Come hear stories about bars, shows, meeting up, closing down, getting kicked out, the end of things, the last person at the party, the pursuit of fun, going somewhere and then going somewhere else, and whatever other amazing stuff we come up with that may or may not be loosely connected to the theme. We're professionals and we know what we're doing.

OPHIRA EISENBERG is the host of NPR's Ask Me Another. She tours as a host and storyteller with The Moth, and was selected as one of New York Magazine's "Top 10 Comics that Funny People Find Funny." The New York Times called her a skilled comedian and storyteller with a "bleakly stylish" sense of humor. Ophira has appeared on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Comedy Central, The Today Show, VH-1 and more. Her debut memoir, Screw Everyone: Sleeping My Way to Monogamy, was recently optioned by Zucker Productions for a feature film.

ISAAC OLIVER is an award-winning writer and performer, and the author of Intimacy Idiot (2015, Scribner), his debut story collection based on the live show of the same name. New York magazine calls Isaac "a monstrous new talent" and Kirkus called his essays "wickedly funny and surprisingly moving." Isaac recently appeared at Joe's Pub in An Evening with Isaac Oliver. He is a wine, cheese, and hairy chest enthusiast.

NANCY BALBIRER is an actress, playwright, performance artist, and author, best known for her memoir Take Your Shirt Off and Cry (Bloomsbury), and for her solo show, I Slept with Jack Kerouac and Other Stories. She has also written for Slate and was the co-creator of the cult reading series, Cause Celeb! She appears regularly in New York's alternative cabaret scene.

KATE GREATHEAD is a writer, a seven-time Moth Slam champion, and a four-time How I Learned performer. Her writing has been featured in Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, the New York Times, on NPR's Moth Story Hour, and elsewhere. She was one of the subjects of Michael Apted's Up Series in America.

LYNN BIXENSPAN is really nice! Also, she's done a lot of stuff. She hosts and produces the storytelling show Relationshit. She's been on MTV, Comedy Central, and the Biography Channel. She's also written for FUSE and was nominated for an Emerging Comics of New York award. You might have heard her on RISK! or seen her telling stories and doing stand-up, but you might not have. You should, though! She probably wants to be friends.

Note: Max Silvestri is unable to appear as originally scheduled. If you haven't met Isaac Oliver, you're in for a real treat. If you have, you are so excited right now.
