HELLO, SUNDAY. I’m being told this is Day 22 of 28 x 20. That means it’s been three weeks and there’s just one more to go. I find this amazing and also totally nonsensical. Because 2013 was three years ago, 2009 was half a decade ago, 1994 was 10 years ago, and 2021 was the year before last.

Today’s prompt is another one I return to often in my own work, though I’m not always conscious of it. It’s a great way into writing about a real person, vitally exploring who they are in the world, and who they are to us — and, harder still, translating that onto the page with clear imagery, and in a way that reveals as much about the other person as it does about you, the narrator. It’s great too, for when you know you need to write about someone, but you’re stuck on “figuring out how.”

Got it? Let’s go.
